High Head
Brooklin, ME | Architect: Elliott Architects
Tucked into the coastal woods of Brooklin, Maine, this 1930s camp-style retreat balances historic charm with thoughtful updates. The clients sought to preserve the soul of the original architecture while bringing new energy, and functionality, through a comprehensive lighting refresh.
The design strategy carefully layers decorative fixtures to enhance the camp’s rustic character, while discreet architectural lighting highlights structural details and improves visual comfort throughout. In the expansive open living and dining area, a custom linear lighting detail animates the wood-paneled ceiling, drawing the eye upward and guiding movement from the entry toward the panoramic water views beyond.
The result is a timeless, warm, and welcoming atmosphere - true to its heritage, yet elevated for modern living.
This home is for rent many weeks out of the year! See more images and details on the VRBO listing.
